Cybersecurity is a critical issue in all areas of the maritime industry. Multiple control systems, protocols and standards, both onshore and offshore, sometimes operating independently, do little to build system resiliency. Adding to the risks is the advent of autonomous technology and remote operations. The Fisheries and Marine Institute is again hosting a seminar in St. John's, NL to highlight and bring awareness to Canadian marine stakeholders of the risks of maritime cybersecurity and how to address them through collaborative education, training, and research.

Objectives:

  • To bring together cybersecurity experts and maritime stakeholders to gain knowledge of the issues in the industry
  • To discuss areas for collaborative innovation to enhance Canada's maritime resiliency
  • To showcase the education, training, and research that can be utilized to address maritime cybersecurity

October 29, 2024 - Hear from experts in Canada and from around the world on cybersecurity challenges in the maritime industry and ways to overcome them.
