About the Role

This role entails overseeing project management, including quotation, estimation, planning, execution, implementation, and tracking to meet company and customer expectations. Additionally, it involves establishing and maintaining markets, performing direct sales, and developing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

This role encompasses multifaceted project management to achieve high-quality and efficient job performance, encompassing material take-offs, production scheduling, and fostering strong customer relationships. The responsibilities also include providing technical guidance on a daily basis, supervising workflow, personnel, and resources to ensure compliance with safety regulations, while meeting production targets and conducting thorough quality control inspections. Additionally, the role involves adhering to ISO 9001 standards and contributing to overall team efforts as directed by the President.

Primary Focus in Year One

The main responsibilities in year one includes managing processes and projects to enhance profitability and customer satisfaction, establishing effective communication with the shop for project updates and expectations, overseeing shop personnel to improve productivity and human resources structure, participating in winter works for Marine customers, and promoting marketing and direct sales by developing new and existing customer accounts to ensure ongoing profitability.

What You Bring

The candidate will hold a Canadian recognized machinist trades certificate along with a minimum 10 years experience in project management, specifically in the heavy industry field with a background of machinery repair, fabrication, assembly, and machining.

The position focuses largely on daily interaction with the shop personnel and requires candidates to have strong technical know how in order to advise on project next steps. The ideal candidate should possess good communication skills, a courteous business-like attitude, troubleshooting capabilities, and multi-tasking abilities. The position also requires the candidate be available for travel as needed.
